A cookie is a small data file that is stored in your browser each time you visit our website.
The purpose of cookies is to store a record of your activity on our website so that, when you visit it again, it can identify you and tailor the content based on your browsing habits, identity, and preferences.
A cookie is harmless; it does not contain malicious or harmful code (e.g., viruses, Trojans, worms, etc.) that could damage your device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.), but it does have a certain impact on your right to data protection, as it collects specific information about you (browsing habits, identity, preferences, etc.).
Cookies do not typically collect special categories of personal data (sensitive data). The data they store is of a technical nature, such as personal preferences and content personalization, etc.
Generally speaking, there are five types of cookies:
These are the most basic cookies. They allow the user to navigate a website, platform, or application and use the various options or services available there, such as managing traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering the items in an order, completing the purchase process for an order, submitting a registration or participation request for an event, using security features while browsing, storing content for the streaming of videos or audio, or sharing content via social media.
These are cookies that allow the user to access the service with certain general settings predefined based on a series of criteria on the user’s device, such as language, the type of browser used to access the service, the regional settings from which the service is accessed, etc.
These are cookies that allow the party responsible for them to track and analyze the behavior of users on the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure the activity of websites, applications, or platforms and to create browsing profiles of users of such sites, applications, and platforms, with the aim of making improvements based on the analysis of how users interact with the service.
These are cookies that enable the most effective management of advertising spaces that the controller may have included on a website, application, or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the content published or the frequency with which ads are displayed.
These cookies enable the most effective management of advertising spaces that the data controller may have included on a website, app, or platform through which the requested service is provided. These cookies store information about user behavior obtained through the continuous monitoring of their browsing habits, which allows for the creation of a specific profile to display advertising tailored to that profile.
First-party cookies: First-party cookies are those generated and managed by the controller providing the service requested by the user.

The Management / Governing Body of the Franco-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry—La Chambre (hereinafter, the “Data Controller”)—assumes full responsibility and is fully committed to establishing, implementing, and maintaining this Data Protection Policy, ensuring the Data Controller’s continuous improvement with the aim of achieving excellence in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (OJEU L 119/1, May 4, 2016), and Spanish regulations on the protection of personal data (Organic Law, specific sectoral legislation, and its implementing regulations).
The Data Protection Policy of the Franco-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (La Chambre) is based on the principle of proactive accountability, according to which the data controller is responsible for complying with the regulatory and jurisprudential framework governing this Policy and is able to demonstrate such compliance to the competent supervisory authorities.
In this regard, the data controller shall be guided by the following principles, which should serve as a guide and reference framework for all its staff in the processing of personal data:
1. Data protection by design: The data controller shall implement, both when determining the means of processing and at the time of the processing itself, appropriate technical and organizational measures—such as pseudonymization—designed to effectively apply data protection principles, such as data minimization, and to integrate the necessary safeguards into the processing.
2. Data protection by default: The data controller shall implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure that, by default, only personal data necessary for each of the specific purposes of the processing are processed.
3. Data protection throughout the information lifecycle: Measures to ensure the protection of personal data shall apply throughout the entire information lifecycle.
4. Lawfulness, fairness, and transparency: Personal data shall be processed lawfully, fairly, and transparently in relation to the data subject.
5. Purpose limitation: Personal data shall be collected for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes and shall not be further processed in a manner incompatible with those purposes.
6. Data minimization: Personal data shall be adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed.
7. Accuracy: Personal data shall be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date; every reasonable step shall be taken to ensure that personal data that is inaccurate, having regard to the purposes for which it is processed, is erased or rectified without delay.
8. Limitation of retention period: Personal data shall be retained in a form that permits identification of data subjects for no longer than is necessary for the purposes of the processing of personal data.
9. Integrity and confidentiality: Personal data shall be processed in such a way as to ensure appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorized or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage, through the application of appropriate technical or organizational measures.
10. Information and training: One of the keys to ensuring the protection of personal data is the training and information provided to staff involved in processing such data. Throughout the information lifecycle, all staff with access to the data will be appropriately trained and informed about their obligations regarding compliance with data protection regulations.
The Data Protection Policy of the Franco-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (La Chambre) is communicated to all staff of the data controller and made available to all interested parties.
Consequently, this Data Protection Policy applies to all staff of the data controller, who must be familiar with it and embrace it as their own, with each member being responsible for applying it and verifying the data protection rules applicable to their activities, as well as identifying and proposing any opportunities for improvement they deem appropriate in order to achieve excellence in compliance.
This Policy will be reviewed by the Management / Governing Body of the Franco-Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry—La Chambre—as often as deemed necessary to ensure compliance, at all times, with current regulations regarding the protection of personal data.
